Battlefield 5 Microtransactions Limited To Cosmetics Only – Report

4.2
The loot boxes fiasco surrounding Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was probably one of the biggest controversies last year, and it’s becoming more and more obvious each day that developers and publishers across the industry have been affected by it (hopefully for the better). EA and DICE, too, seem to be learning from their mistakes- or so it seems.

As per a report by Kotaku, Battlefield 5, which is due out later this year, will have a microtransactions system, albeit one that will be significantly changed from last year’s Battlefront 2. Unlike the Star Wars game, which essentially featured pay-to-win mechanics, the microtransactions in the upcoming Battlefield V will be for cosmetic items and purchases only. “No one’s gonna do any pay-to-win stuff anymore,” Kotaku’s source said. “We didn’t take any of the loot box controversy lightly.”

As per recent leaks and reports, the upcoming shooter is going to be called Battlefield V, and will be set in the backdrop of World War 2.

Ctag I feel like they're going to ruin this game.

EA is so bad with stuff like this.

Goes to show they are in it for the profit, not the want for providing a game people want.

EA is usually in it for the profit rather than the communities suggestions. This is why most of their recent games have gone to the gutters.

Man, are they seriously going to keep bringing these microtransactions to Battlefield. Like didnt they get enough hate for the loot crates in the most recent Battlefield. EA just can't get enough of the money, they never listen to the community, its all about them.

Please EA, learn from your mistakes. Don't ruin what could be the game of 2018 by integrating something so shit into a game that has killed your last one.

If it's limited to cosmetic only that's a start, but they also need to be obtainable via commitment. Don't make us pay for shit that looks good just because you feel like being a money whore.
