Fortnite Battle Royale Tops Charts as No. 1 iPhone App

4
As if breaking Twitch viewer records and boasting 3.4 million concurrent players wasn’t enough, Fortnite Battle Royale now tops the mobile charts of the iPhone app store in thirteen countries. According to the SensorTower app charts, it only took the little-app-that-could twelve hours to reach that coveted seat.

The iOS version of the game still supports cross-play with PC and console owners, which only further fuels Fortnite‘s meteoric rise to popularity. Gameplay and game progression can be saved across all platforms, adding to the mobility of the game. Aside from a slight downgrade in graphics, the mobile version is as much the full game as its console counterparts.

If you want to play the iOS version, you’ll need to make sure your device is updated to at least iOS 11. At the moment it’s still invite-only, meaning you’ll have to sign up for the wait list to download, which you can do at Epic Games’s website. This system has been implemented to ensure that Fortnite‘s servers are able to handle the traffic brought on by the new release without affecting the quality of gameplay for current users. Epic Games also has plans for an Android mobile release in the coming months but has yet to hammer down an exact date.

Clearly, waitlisting hasn’t stopped players from downloading the app if these numbers are anything to go by.

The file size of this game is 2gbs, I've never had an app with so much memory. I've seen gameplay and played this on a friends phone but, I will not be getting this due to the terrible controls and how console players can so upper hand you in fights. It's literally just you dying every game with 0-1 kills.

XeCookie_ Kinda glad they dont charge for the game, if they did they would be taking over (well they already are but you know what I mean, I hope)

they do charge for the game the game never was going to have a br aspect until pubg took over but the game is 95% free to play and 5% pay to play as they arent releasing the pve mode till later but yeah the pvp is fully f2p which is good. but on the phone it sucks

I'm not surprised honestly Fortnite is a pretty popular game.

It's great and fun. I can even play fortnite on the toilet. I find it easier to play on my phone rather then Xbox and pc
