YouTube looking to offer an improved experience on the desktop

4.2
YouTube does not have an official app for Windows 10, and their desktop web experience lags behind their app experience on mobile.

Now, 9to5Google reports that Google is planning to pay some catchup by bringing one of their iOS and Android app features to their website.

The feature would turn the currently playing video into a mini-player which will follow users around on the website and keep the video going while users browse the site to find other videos to watch.

The mini-player includes controls and lets users access the playlist, giving users full control without tying them to a specific page.

Unfortunately, it does not look like the video will detach completely from the page, meaning the video will only remain visible while you remain on Youtube.

9to5Google reports the feature is currently in testing, and only accessible to some users, but presumably if YouTube gets a satisfactory response it will roll out to all users soon.

I really don't need a need for the pop-up video. I usually just finish my video and then onwards to another video.
