Phil Spencer Still Wants Banjo-Kazooie In ‘Super Smash Bros’

Back in 2015, Xbox Head Phil Spencer mentioned that he wanted to see Banjo from Banjo-Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

“I think it would be cool if Banjo was in the next SSB DLC,” said Spencer. “We’ve worked with Nintendo on Rare IP before, no issues.”

After the character didn’t appear in the game, fans were a bit disappointed and began to forget about the idea. Now, with Super Smash Bros. for Switch on the horizon, many hope both Banjo and Kazooie join the fight. Spencer is still a fan of the idea, as he noted on Twitter.


Banjo-Kazooie would be an amazing addition to Smash for Switch; I really hope it happens. The duo represents such a fascinating time in gaming with 3D platforming in the 1990s, and seeing them fighting the likes of Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Link sounds like a blast.

Decy Tbh Nintendo and xbox have a pretty good relationship they should swap titles and mix in games could be a very cool thing.
That would be cool but o don't see the benefits for Nintendo!

I really dont see a problem with adding Banjo to the mix, would be a great addition since he's a big hit for xbox.
