YouTube’s Global Head of VR/AR and Gaming Ryan Wyatt has revealed that Fortnite is indeed a global sensation, as the game has reached several milestones of YouTube viewership, on top of its already intimidating presence on Twitch.
Specifically, Wyatt stated that Fortnite has broken the record for the most amount of videos uploaded for a specific game in one month, while the game also also earned the designation of reaching the highest number of concurrent viewers for a single gaming livestream, following a stream this week from YouTuber elrbuiusOMG of a tournament with several notable Spanish players of the game across YouTube that drew in over 1.1 million viewers concurrently.
Coming off the buzz of its Twitch stream last week with Drake, Fortnite is only continuing to grow bigger and bigger, especially with the recent release of its mobile version on iOS that has expanded the game’s reach to an even wider audience than before.
Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and iOS.
How big is @FortniteGame on YouTube? Fortnite holds the record for the most videos related to a video game uploaded in a single month EVER. Yesterday, the Battle Royale tournament had over 42M live views, and set a record for biggest single live gaming stream @ 1.1M concurrent.
