The settings menu in the original release of Dark Souls on PC, Prepare to Die Edition, was noticeably lacking. Later games in the series fared much better, offering a relatively rich list of customisable options.
It may not be fair to expect a similar offering from Dark Souls Remastered, what with it being only a modest upgrade over the original, but we’re glad to see a few good options regardless.
Namco provided the full settings menu to PCGamesN. Outside of your typical display modes (borderless full screen is thankfully present) and resolution settings, the graphics menu offers four options.
Those being ambient occlusion, motion blur, depth of field, and three choices for anti aliasing. See below for the full list.
Dark Souls Remastered PC display options
- Resolution – values vary depending on monitor
- Frequency – depends on monitor
- Display mode – windowed, borderless, full screen
- Vertical sync – on or off
Dark Souls Remastered PC graphics quality options
- Anti-aliasing – off, FXAA, FXAA high, temporal anti-aliasing
- Motion blur – on or off
- Depth of field – on or off
- Ambient occlusion – on or off
