Fortnite gets a pop-up fort with the new Port-a-Fort

Don’t have enough resources or just can’t be arsed to build a quick defensive fort? It looks like the Port-a-Fort is just for you.

Fortnite’s newest gadget is due “soon” and looks to be a portable fort that pops up when thrown to the ground.

Sounds great for emergencies if you don’t have enough resources to quickly build when under enemy fire. It’s not a hastily knocked together fort, either. This bad boy is big and strong.

Here’s the first video of it in action:

As the Port-a-Fort is currently being teased in-game, we’d assumed it will be released this week, possibly alongside Week 8 Challenges.

I've seen a little bit of game play, not completely sure what I think about the new item. I'm kinda sketchy about it, but I haven't been able to use it yet because of the fortnite servers so I can't give an exact opinion on it yet. I think it's a pretty cool idea, but then again I'm kinda sketchy about the whole thing.

Okay, got a few games on and I can agree. This thing is insanely easy to fight against and is fun to use.

Oh thank god. All my buddies can't build. Every time we get shot at, I build, turn around and see them jumping in with me. Even if it's rockets coming at us, doesn't cross their mind that grouping up is a bad thing. I will force them to carry this shit if I find one

EG6 I get Epic wanting to keep the game fresh, but surely this can be destroyed within seconds with an AR. They should change it so that it's an instant build. Just wish they would solve the lag issues before adding some unnecessary items.


See, people think it's gonna be op and are complaining on twitter and reddit, but it's gonna be so easy to destroy. I don't even think the regular player will keep one on them unless they have an open slot.
