Since PS4 firmwares 4.05 and 4.55 have been hacked, significant progress has been made on its Linux port, in particular with support for PS4 Pro/Slim.
French Site logic sunrise have published detailed tutorials (thanks to Tikilou) on how to install Manjaro Linux on the PS4 , which ships with Steam by default. Masterzorag has also been demonstrating Steam, as well as Kodi, running on PS4 Linux, with a Fedora 28 distribution.

It might be a bit convoluted to run linux just to manage your video library from your PS4 (lots of people have been waiting for PS4 native solutions such as multiman instead), and there’s still a long way to transform our hacked PS4s into reasonable media centers, but it’s great to see progress.
