Here's the thing: everything we've seen of Battlefield 3 has been running on PC, and maybe five percent of PC players are going to get that kind of graphical fidelity. For a lot of folks, the console version is going to be their only choice -- so what should they expect?

According to DICE executive producer Patrick Bach, the console version obviously won't have all the graphical bells and whistles of its PC counterpart. Speaking to Videogamer, Bach said the console port will lack the "higher resolution, the higher framerate, the anti-aliasing, the motion blur, stuff like that" that we've seen in the trailers released so far.

Still, it's not all doom and gloom. Despite some performance differences between Bad Company 2 on the PC and consoles, for example, both run quite smoothly and looked great.

why do they need new consoles? pc have always ran games better(well if you have a high end one) it will never change you can buy an xbox for 100, and it will run anything, for a pc that can run almost everything your talking 2000 bf3 will look good on all platforms, but highend pc's will make it look extraordinary!

Technically it'd be the other way round.

PS3 has Bluray, meaning you can store a heck of alot more data on one disc. Plus it has much better hardware. If you've opened an Xbox you'll see that it's almost empty, A small motherboard, disc drive and cooling fans.

Your right on the first part saying about there is barely anything in the xbox, in fact i completly agree, but the standards between xbox and ps3 gameplay wise is so small, so basically the xbox can keep up to standards with ps3 with a hell of a lot less components inside, doesnt this mean that ps3's components inside arent really doing there job as there are more than xbox?

also you say about a bluray disc, YES it stores data, NO the gameplay stands and quality is no difference WHAT SO EVER!

YEah he is right the blu ray is only used when watching Blu Ray Dvd, Games are not Played on Blu Ray since they are not blu ray.

The only diffrence between xbox and ps3 is they way the disc partions and everthing work so ps3 get more space to use but most develops dont use that extra space for grapics since all they do is make they game on pc then change the coding for ps3/xbox, Most uses for ps3 is that they dont need a 2nd disc like xbox needs for Dead SPace 2

And to concluded Xbox Has a much better graphics rating than ps3 due to xbox having better ram/processor to run it


Actually the games are on blu ray discs and you can actually see this when games that are multi disc on xbox are one disc on ps3 because there is much more space to use there :P
