Halo TV series greenlit by Showtime, production starts next year

4.2
Showtime has greenlit the Halo TV series, and the debut season will span 10 episodes.

Announced five years ago as in development with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and Showtime, the Halo series will be directed and executive produced by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).

Kyle Killen (Awake) will serve as executive producer, writer and showrunner, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Halo series will begin production in early 2019, and along with Spielberg’s TV arm of Amblin Entertainment, Microsoft/343 Industries are also producing.

When the series was announced in 2013, Spielberg was set to executive produce. He is not listed as such any longer, according to the report.

I can see this being quite good considering its based on halo. All it depends on is the director and the story line.

Brigand Can't see this being good. Movies/shows about video games always fail to deliver.

Sounds neat most likely gonna be a cool thing for a while then get boring and die down though.

If you look past it just being a game and take in the depth of the actual lore surrounding halo this Tv show could do exceptionally well even for people who have never heard of halo and that are justy sci fi movie/Tvshow lovers.

I don't see it lasting long, but I remember back in the day all of the halo 3 trailers made me want a tv show/movie so bad

Have always been a massive fan of Halo, so will definitely give this a watch when it's finished production and released. Not gonna expect anything major from it but let's see
