Today Forza Horizon 4 developer Playground Games and Microsoft showcased another large batch of gameplay.

This time around we get to see another seasonal change as we check out spring, and the colors are definitely different from the rest of the year. Interestingly, we learn that the team actually traveled around Britain with a color scanner to capture the real hues of each season.

The video also showcased on the soundtrack and on the recording for the McLaren Senna cover car, alongside the Team Adventure online co-op feature.

Perhaps the crown jewel of the stream was the reveal of the beautiful city of Edinburgh, done in quite a scenic way with a jump off the iconic hill or Arthur’s Seat. The city looks absolutely fantastic, and we get to see it both during the day and at night.

Interestingly, Director Ralph Fulton explained why London isn’t included in the game. The city is “absolutely massive and incredibly unique.” Anywhere near central London, every building is completely different and iconic. The amount of work involved in recreating London would mean that the team wouldn’t have any time left to build the rest of the game. They’d have to devote an entire game to London to do it justice, and they’d fundamentally change what the game is about.

On the other hand Edinburgh is smaller than London, but it’s no less iconic and beautiful, and according to Fulton that “effects the game really well.”

We also get the confirmation that players can run businesses to make money. For instance “World’s Fastest Rentals” is a supercar rental business.
