Ninja, who previously broke Twitch viewership records, has now become the first streamer to reach 10 million followers.
Following a stream, unlike subscribing, is completely free. You simply do it to get notified when your favourite streamer goes online. However, that is still a massive figure for a single streamer essentially playing one game most days.
That game being Fortnite, of course, the game that made Ninja this popular, and the one most fans today know him from. Ninja tweeted today about reaching this impressive milestone, calling it the one he’s most proud of.
First streamer on twitch to ever hit 10 million followers! This milestone is seriously ridiculous and the one I am most proud of. I have been streaming for a very very long time... and I cannot express how grateful I am to be in the position I am in.

To understand how significant this number is, a quick look on Social Blade will reveal that Shroud, himself one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, has less than 4 million followers. That’s Ninja’s closest competitor, as far as follower numbers go.
According to the same site, Ninja gains thousands of new followers per day. He’s been averaging 30,000 new followers, per day, over the past week alone. For reference, Ninja had a little over 3 million followers in March, which seems like such a long time ago now.
