Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg Talks Learnings from Xbox One Generation

4.2
This generation is starting the gradual path towards sunset, and there are already many rumors about Microsoft’s next big console (or consoles), with code names like “Scarlett” appearing on the net n unofficial capacity.

At Gamescom 2018, DualShockers asked Xbox Games Marketing General Manager Aaron Greenberg what are the biggest learning from this generation that he’ll carry into the next one.

“I think the biggest thing for any company is “never lose sight of the customer. Always put your fans first” If you think about them with every key decision you make, from every new product, to every pricing decision, to every launch date, to just how you roll things out, if you put your customer first you’ll be all right.

I think that’s the most important thing you can never lose focus on. I’m really proud that this leadership team that’s in place is the team that has been leading the business kinda post-Xbox One launch, and if you’re seeing what the team has done there around backward compatibility, around innovation with hardware, around things like the Elite controller, all the innovation, and so much of that comes from listening to our fans. It feels like they’ve been a part of that journey with us.

[…]

We never want to lose that focus and I think that’s the most important thing as we think about this team and what guides us in the future.”

Incidentally, I did ask him whether the “Scarlett” name is real, but he was not able to talk about it at this moment.

If you want to learn more about Microsoft’s plans and attitude towards the future, you can read what Greenberg said about investment, acquisitions, and diversity of content, and about the commitment to Japanese games.

Make MW2 Backward compatibly.!!!!!!

tbh i think it should be it would be a great decision but i don't think it should be remastered

Or both wouldnt hurt! Lets be honest

that's down to Activision.. MS can only make games back compat if the publisher agrees, I expect mW2 will be bundled with a new Cod or as a remaster in the near future. so they won't allow MS to BC it.

I'm happy to say mw2 has been made backwards compat as you may alread know cause who doesnt

Please. I've been wanting to play this game so much lately.

That's not Microsofts doing, that's the Dev company themselves.
Microsoft has given each company the ability to port their old games to the newer systems.
That's like blaming Walmart when Samsung suddenly stops making a certain TV model...

not really when iw is now defunct(old iw) buy the bc is microsofts doing hint why old xbox games are bc when the companies are no more lol but yeah its not even porting its enabling a file microsoft has in their servers, but yeah most people think its devs that gives the ok its not because how else would we have bc in the xbox one?

Microsoft needs to take a lot from this generation... theres no telling if next gen will be better or worse for microsoft but they can't afford to do a repeat of the xbox one. They're going to have to implement some very important innovations some of which did end up on xbox one but mainly a few that it was missing to make it feel that much more like "everyones" home console.. I think they can do it next gen and out sell sony but its gonna take that determination that the X360 team had..
