Gran Turismo Sport Update Adds New Vehicles, New Track

4.5
Still sour about the July update adding microtransactions to Gran Turismo Sport? Either way, Polyphony Digital continues to add new content with the latest update adding eight new cars, a new track and much more. The update is out on August 30th.

The new vehicles in question include:

  • Ford Mark IV Race Car ’67
  • Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé ’64
  • Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo
  • Abarth 500 ’09
  • Abarth 1500 Biposto Bertone B.A.T 1 ’52
  • Volkswagen 1200 ’66
  • Mini-Cooper ‘S’ ’65
  • Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Evoluzione ’91

The new track is the Red Bull Ring in Styria, Austria and along with playing the full version, there’s a shorter version as well. Both tracks have options to play them in reverse, adding a bit more variety. Players also receive three more challenges for GT League Events which are the Beetle & Samba Bus Festa (Beginner), Group 3 Cup (Amateur), and Nostalgic 1979 (Professional).

You can also check out previous rankings via Sport Mode, check out the Zagato Museum and even explore a special part of Cuba in Scapes. Overall, not a bad update, especially when you consider all the other content that’s been added till now, free of cost.

Free you say? Not a bad update on the developers behalf.

Microtransactions are literally becoming the death of the game. I miss the days when you only looked forward to new map packs or extensions that added more content to a game.
