It Takes 5 Minutes To Cross Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout Map

3.8
According to GameInformer, it will take, roughly, five minutes to cross Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout map from its two farthest away points. In other words, some parts of the map may not even take five minutes to cross.

For context, it takes about 6-8 minutes to cross different parts of Fornite's map, which features up to 100 players, 20 more than Blackout's 80-player count.

It's also worth pointing out that Blackout features a more robust vehicle offering than Fortnite, meaning that you can cross its map even quicker than you can cross the map in Fortnite.

Given Call of Duty's heritage of being a fast-paced, action-packed shooter, a slightly smaller map that packs in more action into a more condensed area isn't very surprising. And to be honest, the map still looks pretty darn big (check it out for yourself here).

Nonetheless, some players weren't very pleased by the news.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is poised to release via PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12. Before then, a beta for the game's aforementioned Blackout mode is poised to arrive next week.

That's alright 5 mins is a decent amount of time in my opinion, I don't want to be wondering forever.

Seems a bit small considering there are vehicles in the game.

Dil That's decent, especially for that to run on the Call of Duty engine with 80+ players. They had issues creating maps for AW due to sight lines being too long, so I really wonder how they managed to get over those engine limitations.

We'll see if it actually works first.

Wizard Dang 5 minutes isn't that bad. Can't wait for it to drop on xbox

The only problem is I don't see someone running across the whole map without getting into a gunfight, probably multiple, making it much longer.

Let's agree to disagree you could always finesse them and just not get into a gun fight

Completely agree bro I think it's the perfect size I'm into fast paced gameplay

Lood I'll be watching gameplay of this game mode tonight; I am super skeptical about how they're going about BR. It's a pretty simple formula that is hard to screw up, but a large part of the excitement that people find in BR (in my opinion) is a very large map with geographical variety that leaves players finding new places and experiencing unfamiliar battles that, I have a feeling, players in BF4's BR won't be able to experience. The map is smaller; 5 minutes to cross the map on foot means it's very small. It does have a significantly lower player count when compared to other BR games but it will most likely feel pretty compact. This might also mean a lack of variety in scenery and locations; either that or it will be like running around a small city.

I'm also skeptical because I don't like the path that CoD has chosen to go down with the last, maybe 4, games that they have made. We'll see. I personally dont see myself buying another CoD unless it is a complete remaster of MW2.

You said all of that, only to wrap up that you wont buy another call of duty unless it's a remaster. And even still, you compared the past 4 installments to a new battle royale experience. Either deem yourself optimistic about the game mode or go play another franchise.

A lot of people are enjoying the new beta. And if you don't, well go make your own, since it's an simple formula .
