Red Dead Online Will Launch in November First as a Public Beta

3.4
Rockstar continues to slowly reveal more information about Red Dead Redemption 2 ahead of its launch next month and today, they’ve opted to finally talk about some of the first details on the game’s multiplayer.

Red Dead Online will be the name of the multiplayer portion of Red Dead Redemption 2 and will be set in the game’s massive open world. Rockstar says that this will be an evolution of the multiplayer experience found in the original Red Dead Redemption and will offer both narrative and competitive elements. Much like Grand Theft Auto Online, Rockstar also promises that this online component will be updated frequently and will continue to grow.

What’s perhaps most interesting about Red Dead Online is that it won’t be available at first when Red Dead Redemption 2 launches. Red Dead Online is set to begin in November at first as a public beta. Rockstar says they expect there to be some “turbulence” as they get this mode off of the ground which is likely why they plan to release it in this beta format at first. Their statement also promises that they’ll reveal more details about this aspect of RDR2 soon.

Of course, if you purchase Red Dead Redemption 2 you’ll automatically have access to Red Dead Online, so don’t worry about there being another package or transaction to make to gain access to the multiplayer content. Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to release next month on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26.

Maze Great, so it'll be filled with bugs, glitches, and exploits: The rockstar special

I disagree. I like that they are doing this. The servers are going to be on so much stress so they are making it a "beta" to start out with so they can fix everything. GTA online did the same thing and I think it turned out pretty good

That's the whole point of the beta so they can test it and find out whats wrong for them to then go ahead and fix it
