The Spring Dashboard update that started rolling out for Xbox 360 users across the world, holds something that software pirates may not have been expecting. The update is rumored to flash disc drives that have been modified to play burnt discs and render them unusable. The new firmware which is rumored to play a large role in the welcoming of the XDG3 format, is installed during the Spring Update installation.
Piracy has long been a problem on Microsoft’s console, with the company taking a much more proactive approach to the issue by initiating the AP 2.5 protocol into specific games. This AP 2.5 protection alongside the new firmware could strike a death blow to piracy on the console.

You will probably get banned, and you wont even be able to use your disc drive to play offline games. I advise you to buy a new disc drive, or flsh it back to the original firmware - if that's possible.
A chip is required for Liteon 8XXX Series 2 and 9XXX if you was not aware so the info is correct.

WTF are you talking about. You don't solder no chip to flash your drives. You just need to flash back to original fw.

5. Possible insta-ban if LT+ is reflashed. I believe this to only be if your current drive is able to write to secdata. Not all consoles can do this, even after the standard firmware is re-deployed. Mine can't so I shall be testing multiple consoles to discover the parameters of this for ixtreme, 247consoles, TTG, 7 and other sites. THIS is not due to JF, mine is unwritable full stop so will be sacrificing my own X360 lamb first.
6. I shall also be testing AP 2.5 capability after the standard firmware is re-written back to LT+
7. If you cannot sacrifice a console due to financial reasons, DO NOT UPDATE, leave it to those, like me, that can check and report. Do not waste a console you cannot replace. Pointless.
8. Lets shove it back up theirs, by communicating across multi-forums and keep the community rolling forward rather than clamming up!

wow if this info was any more basic, it would be almost laughable.
It offers no real insight into the new dash whatsoever.
It doesn't even mention that you will not be able to see your dvd key in JF or reflash to LT Plus 1.1 or similar, it doesn't say that if you have your DVD key, you will be able to reflash normally, or that even if you do, there is a chance of an insta-ban.
