Recently we posted an article which briefly touched upon the fact that Modern Warfare 3 will feature Spec Ops missions which will test your survival abilities, well we have looked into this further and now it looks like MW3 will actually feature a survival mode.
Details are understandably scarce, however to us this sounds like a cross between Call of Duty zombies and Gear of War’s hoard mode. Information posted on MW3Blog suggest that to start with there will be six survival mode maps, these will undoubtedly be multiplayer maps which require you to work as a team to progress.
The six maps which we have heard about are Carbon, Dome, Mission, Radar, Seatown, Survival and Village. We presume that you will be fending of armed enemies rather than zombies. In zombies you can use unrealistic weapons, unlock certain paths and get things like instant kills, max ammo and much more, we wonder how the dynamic of such a game mode will change if your enemies can actually shoot at you.
If you prefer mission-based action you will be glad to hear that there will still be Spec Ops missions to carry out and by the look of it you will have to rescue civilians. Civilian rescue mission which we have heard about include Flood the Market, Little Bro’s, Invisible Threat, No Fly Zone, Out of Africa and Wing Man.
We like the way that Modern Warfare 3 is shaping up, with standard multiplayer, survival mode multiplayer and co-op civilian rescue missions there should be something for everyone, do you like the sound of the survival mode?
