Just Cause 4 Will Have “In-Game Purchases”, As Per ESRB Rating

3.8
Microtransactions are something people seem to grudgingly tolerate in multiplayer games (perhaps not even then), but when they’re included in single player titles, they rub a lot of people the wrong way. It seems Just Cause 4 is going to be another example of that.

The upcoming open world title by Avalanche Studios was recently rated by the ESRB, and while a lot of it describes stuff that you would expect – violence, gunplay, profanity in language, and, of course, an M for Mature rating – one particular bit of information is more notable than all the other stuff. According to ESRB, the game will include “in-game purchases”, which could mean microtransactions.

Of course, it should also be noted that this could apply to a number of other things, such as DLC or Season Pass purchases, since that is also something that falls under the “in-game purchases” category in ESRB’s ratings and descriptions.

Just Cause 4 launches on December 4 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Recently, the full map of Just Cause 4 was revealed (it’s pretty huge, as you might expect), while new trailers have also focused on things such as its bombastic weather effects and narrative elements.

I don't enjoy this kind of content like how assassin's creed has the same kind of stuff, it isn't a great addition but people buy it so they will continue to do it no doubt.

Whitty11099 I'm all for cosmetics, because they don't affect gameplay and allow single player games to generate money after the sales have died down. So hopefully that's the case. If it is for weapons, vehicles and things of that nature, then it's a poor move.

Just Cause 2 and Just Cause 3 both had DLC weapons and vehicles. It's no doubt that 4 will have them, as well.
