Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Sales Cross $500 Million in Three Days

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was always slated to do well. Though it’s only been three days since launch, Activision has confirmed that digital and retail sales of the multiplayer-centric shooter crossed $500 million. If that figure sounds familiar, it’s because Call of Duty: WW2 also hit the same milestone in its first three days.

In terms of day one digital sales though, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 surpassed last year’s iteration. It sold double the amount of copies on PC and double the number of players were online at launch than last year. The average hours per player, total number of hours played and combined player count is also the highest for the series on current gen consoles, even beating out Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 during the same period.

Despite the lack of a single-player campaign, none of this is really surprising. Call of Duty continues to be a juggernaut franchise and Black Ops 4 will continue engaging players thanks to both free and paid post-launch content.

No surprise there lol, after all it's COD. No matter what you think of the game, it's always gonna sell shit loads just due to the fact is a new Call Of Duty game lol.

A lot of the comments on this post are so negative. Give Treyarch their credit. They made a good game. And it's only going to get better. Of course there needs to be some tweaks here and there, but otherwise it's a really fun game

Personally I think activision has made a great move. When they created the new Black Ops without a single-player. Activision did not have to spend big money on the world stars for dubbing to single player. Concepts have been able to do just what people do, and this is a multiplayer, and it's great for me to enjoy it in three ways, and these are basically multiplayer, zombies and blackout (battle royale)which has attracted many players.

Alot of this probably down to the fact there making people pay stupid money for dlc this year... but yeah this aint all that impressive by cod standards....

I enjoy this game a lot. After more updates it'll be even better. Worth the purchase if you like black ops one and two, also has a slight mw2 feel to it.

Yeah only becuse they stole a game mode already established by other developers, so they knew how to do it right with barely any effort. Also zombies. Zombies is always good. I won't buy another cod unless they come out with a stand alone zombies game. I hate cod multiplayer. Blackout looks fun but It also looks about the same as ROE of pubG
