Big Things Coming From Battlefield 3 at E3 2011

Call of Duty has been a massive entertainment event, setting new sales records for two years in a row. Publishers are sure to take note of the latest game in the blockbuster franchise to plan their own release schedules accordingly. With Activision having just announced its November 8 release date for Modern Warfare 3, one publisher in particular is likely to pay very close attention: EA.

It's no secret that EA is gunning to take back the shooter category and has "designed" Battlefield 3 to "take down" Call of Duty. The team at EA recently detailed its "aggressive" marketing plans to go up against Call of Duty this fall. And now that EA knows the release date of its main competitor in the shooter space, the publisher could conceivably gain a first-mover advantage if it can release Battlefield 3 in October or even September.

For its part, EA told IndustryGamers that while the competition does affect plans at times, EA wanted to wait until this year's E3 to reveal more about Battlefield 3. "We unveiled the game at GDC where we had announced a Fall ship date. We've been holding out for our next big beat which is at E3 where we will be debuting new gameplay," a spokesperson told us.

"With all our marketing/PR campaigns for all of our titles, we do look at competitors and the overall market but this is one of many factors that affect when we do and do not show/announce new gameplay/ship date/game features/etc."

but MW3 will be Better

i think Black ops is the best COD yet
and dont talk about second chance its been there on every COD + Bad kids that get FUUUCKED on Black ops say its bad cuz they have no skill. so they go to BF, i like BFBC2 its fun playing with your friends But its still Not Better than
Black Ops or the previous Cods IMO.

P.s i REALLY dont think BF3 will have better Graffics than MW3, were talking about the people who made MW2 that game has better graphics than Black Ops.


Blackops takes no skill to play and you say that the people who say second chance is for bad kids are bad themselves? that implies to me that you use second chance. I am 15th prestige 50 with a 2.04 K/D and a 1.65 W/L with a 160 win streak when all i play is HC search because the game is just that easy. And i have never used second chance so i can drop down and pull out my pistol just to get back up even though i was just shot by an assault rifle.

You are a CoD fanboy. Call of duty is trash. They cant do anything right when they make the game and the things they have wrong they dont even try to fix. Like how with a piece of plastic on your head can magically protect you from an explosion 2 feet away from you but bullets can penetrate it no problem. plus 'Flak Jacket' is used on parachuters to protect them from 'Flak Turrets' not explosions. Oh and not to mention second chance. You can take a .50 Caliber sniper rifle bulllet to the chest and drop down and still pull out your pistol and then get back up? please let me shoot you in the chest in real life with a .50 cal and see if that happens because i can garauntee it wont because in reality if a .50 cal bullet lands next to you it can tear a limb off. But i will let you believe that call of duty is a good game.


LOL in Vietnam soldiers on the ground wore flak jackets you tool. do you honestly think that a huge company like Treyarch would over look that when doing research for a game? Or do they just throw crap together like a 10 year old? I bet you have played CoD more too. both games have their pros and cons. they are COMPLETELY different play-styles. kthx.


All i have to say to you is read your comment over again. Read my comment over again. See that you didn't help any argument for call of duty and also see that you supported my points more than what you intended to do. The soldiers wore flak jacket when they were in helicopters etc. so when they landed they weren't going to take time to take it off therefore if they died they were wearing the flak vests. Soldiers wore them also to prevent bullet penetration which Treyarch ignored completely. But according to you they did so much research on Vietnam thats why they screwed everything up. Why don't you go do some research on Vietnam and come back before you try to make an argument that you know nothing about. And i completely agree that they are different play styles... Call of duty is more arcade and battlefield is more an FPS.

PS: I'm not a battlefield fanboy i play both games i just don't appreciate Treyarch making another terrible game.

Battlefield 3 Shows beautiful Art of War and thats what I like most about Modern Warfare or WW2 Based games. I like VERY Realistic games and Battlefield 3 is a basic example including Big maps, Destruction of Buildings and Cover, Variety of Vehicles to use, Large Epic Teams and Much more.

This is why I much rather BF3 than MW3 although MW3 will obviously be a great game eventhough I haven't played neither of these games yet. I'm just more excited for BF3. :D

lol black ops takes absolutely no skill. i played gb on there and went 52-3 in singles so i got boored of it and switched mw2 witch actualy takes skill

I love the campaign in MW3
and the multiplayer in BF3

Please stop fighting, just get the game that you want without complaining the other one. Both seems to be great

iTzzDeano BATTLEFIELD 3 WILL BE EPIC WITHOUT A DOUBT. GRAPHICS = AMAZING. GAMEPLAY = REALISTIC. BF3 HAS REALISM.


No, signing up for duty has realism. Games, especially fps, can only ever touch on the truth. Sure they can emulate some aspects such as a story of sadness struggle and loss but the real emotions will always be missing, games are fun as they should be, war isn't.


Thats why its called a Game :facepalm:
