Fallout 76’s Day One Patch is Larger Than the Actual Game

It is not news to many people now that most games will have a day one patch to clean up some last minute bugs and what not. Usually, they might be a few gigs or so. However, the day one patch for the new Bethesda multiplayer title Fallout 76 is going to be a hefty one.

As noted by USGamer, the day one patch for Fallout 76 is a whopping 54 GB. Since the size of the actual game is about 45 GB, the day one patch is going to be nine GB bigger than the game itself. Patches and updates have been getting larger and larger as time goes by, but this is the largest day one patch I can remember.

Since Bethesda has had different scheduled beta times for the game, one would assume that the hefty patch would be to fix many of the discovered bugs, but probably not all of them because we all know that it wouldn’t be a Bethesda game without at least some jank to it. The patch might also feature some other support options that Bethesda had noted on Reddit a few days ago.

Fallout 76 is set to release next week on November 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

PC Anyone doubting fallout 76 is not a true Bethesda/Fallout fan. I've been playing fallout since Fallout 2 and have been playing Fallout games ever since. One thing I know about the Bethesda crew is that they listen to the community. Yes, the game might not be so good on day one but I can guarantee that they will listen to the community and implement what the community wants. This is a huge milestone for the fallout community as it is the First online Fallout Game. Yes, I wish they would have just built a normal fallout and had CoOp in the normal fallout so you can just play with a few friends, but I think this will be the best fallout after a few months of them rolling out patches and more stuff into the game.


Exactly, I loved the beta tbh honestly only think the people that hated it the game or are giving trash reviews to the beta are the Multiplayer heavy kids and since that's how this game was mentioned to them I'd assume they have harsh opinions on the single player aspects of the game. the lore is so interesting man. Can't wait for the full release

Disappointed to agree with you, I've been hyped for this game but it just seems like it's not living up to what I had expected.

With the littany of issues plaguing this game, it's really turned me off to it to the point where I don't see myself getting the game anytime soon.
