Niantic Labs is teasing the long-awaited player versus player feature for Pokemon Go.

Earlier today the Pokemon Go Twitter account tweeted images of player-versus-player along with work Trainer Battles were “coming soon.”

The feature has been one of the most requested modes since the game was released. The tease comes just ahead of the December Community Day event which kicks off later today.

Players will also be able to complete Field Research assignments they may have missed out on in the previous months. Each time players complete a Research Breakthrough during December, they will encounter one of six different Legendary Pokemon: Articuno, Entei, Moltres, Raikou, Suicune, or Zapdos.

Sounds like tons of fun are in store for players.
