Epic Games has teased that there is only three days to Fortnite Season 7, a timeline that just so happens to coincide with The Game Awards 2018 that kicks off at 6:00 P.M. Pacific on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
Speculation has already begun on Fortnite Season 7 based on the image with some fans thinking the image of a person skiing means snowboarding and skis will be added as a way to move around in Fortnite Season 7. Some are also thinking about that coincidence of being the same day as The Game Awards, although Nick Chester, Senior PR for Epic Games, stated in a tweet that:
I can’t stress enough how much we have going on this week. Geoff isn’t talking about Season 7 launch here. Tune in!
This was in response to another tweet from Geoff Keighley, host and producer of The Game Awards, stating:
Thursday during #TheGameAwards don't miss a @fortnitegame announcement and world premiere from Epic's @DonaldMustard, streaming live at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT everywhere. And oh yeah, keep your game close. #WorldsWillChange pic.twitter.com/hh7VQNpLD1

While the battle royale game will be appearing in some form at The Game Awards it won’t be for a Fortnite Season 7 launch, that news will most likely come directly from Epic earlier that day. Fortnite recently released the Sexy Sax Man emote, as well as Moth Command Gear. Meanwhile The Game Awards is ramping up its pre-show hype with announcements of announcements such as a new trailer for Bioware’s Anthem, details on Obsidian’s new game, and Microsoft’s Winter of Arcade for Xbox One.
