Usually, streamers are pretty switched on when it comes to alpha/beta testing of a game, especially when there’s an NDA involved. Well, it seems that not everyone is as smart as we’d expect them to be and for one Twitch streamer, in particular, not following the rules landed him in a bit of hot water.
The streamer in question goes by the name of ‘smokethrone’, who for whatever reason, thought “Stuff it” and fired up Anthem to live stream via Twitch. Rookie move, I’m afraid. As you can see from the video below, suddenly Origin Access stopped responding. After closing the program and then starting up Origin again, the poor soul then noticed that his entire games library had vanished. You can actually tell how surprised he was by his mouse pointer fumbling around the screen.
Mark Darrah who is the Executive Producer of Anthem, took to Twitter previously to highlight the importance of an NDA and that even talking about problems you encounter on Anthem is breaking the rules.
So.

The Alpha’s on.
And I’m seeing some chatter about connectivity issues to the servers.
2 things:
1. This is one of the primary purposes of the test.
2. You are actually in violation of your NDA if you are publicly discussing issues you are having.
It seems that ‘smokethrone’ didn’t get this memo or maybe they thought they could get away with it just this once, either way, let’s hope they have learned their lesson and maybe follow the rules the next time?
