Halo Infinite will treat PC as a "full first-class citizen"

3.7
We haven't gotten any gameplay footage or a release window for the next entry in the Halo franchise that got announced during E3 earlier this year, but some PC specific and other details regarding Halo Infinite were revealed during the recent 343 Industries developer livestream "Happy Halodays."

Responding to questions on building a Halo title for both Xbox One and PC this time around, the development team said that:

We take the PC as a full first-class citizen. The PC audience expects different things than a curated console experience. It definitely goes into our philosophy of making sure that we can allow scalability of things on the different hardware of PC. Its something we have to think about when we are building [Halo Infinite].

The studio added that the new SlipSpace engine and other tools that will be powering the game were built from the ground up with the PC platform in mind. PC players will be waiting longer than Xbox One players for Halo Infinite's upcoming opt-in flights (test builds) though, as the studio has some technical issues to sort out with the platform.

Four-player split-screen support was confirmed for the title as well, but it's unclear what modes will support this feature.

Well damn I wonder if it will be pc at launch. Probably not. I don't care though, halo is a console game and I don't need to argue that. I'm hoping the competitive scene for this game comes back a little bit I would love to compete!
