It seems that Hideo Kojima is touring the world once again, this time to show what he has created in the three years since forming Kojima Productions. This time around, Kojima made his way to Finland to show Remedy Entertainment Death Stranding.
From a tweet by Remedy Entertainment’s Lead Designer Paul Ehreth, he thanked Kojima for visiting the studio to check out its upcoming game Control. He also states that he is “more excited than ever for Death Stranding” followed by an emoji whose mind is blown.
Who’s brave enough to visit Finland in the middle of winter?? @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN, that’s who!

Thanks so much for hanging out with us here at @remedygames and checking out #ControlRemedy, and now I’m more excited than ever for #DeathStranding 🤯 pic.twitter.com/cVn1JNEV2C
While Ehreth’s excitement could just be from meeting Kojima, it’s his reply to Twitter user @Navaid_22 that indicates he did see gameplay, although he is being tight-lipped about it. Here is the exchange:
Did you guys get a showcase too? Like gameplay?

The use of emojis is an interesting one. Will six strong Japanese guys give Remedy a visit if someone had said anything about the game? If what Mads Mikkelsen said is true, then more than likely. That being said, it’s apparent that Remedy got to see Death Stranding in action leaving Ehreth impressed but he can’t talk about it.
There are a number of photos from Kojima’s visit to Remedy Entertainment between the two’s Twitter accounts. Most of them are either signage welcoming Kojima or him hanging out with the Remedy team at the studio. One of which, with Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake states, “Death Stranding dares to push the boundaries” and that the two were able to compare notes.
It was only a few days ago when Kojima was in Amsterdam at Guerilla Games’ studio to show off Death Stranding to their team. Kojima Productions has a unique connection with Guerrilla Games since the upcoming game uses the Decima Engine, the same engine used to create Horizon Zero Dawn. Three years after being given the source code for the engine, Kojima presented what he had made thus far.
Death Stranding is set to release for PS4 but a specific date has yet to be announced. Recently, in the Japanese gaming publication Famitsu, Kojima potentially teased something stating, “is 2019 the year of the Whale? Please look forward to Death Stranding!” What he is teasing, or if he is teasing anything at all, is still a mystery.
