Now, given Bethesda’s public words regarding these issues, it’s pretty clear that the developer is taking extra steps to ensure that such issues are ironed out. Speaking to Eurogamer in a statement about the developer room in particular, Bethesda stated that the room is something that can only be access by PC players, and that too using third party software. According to Bethesda, players using these exploits have been getting temporary suspensions.
“We are looking into accounts where players have obtained items by accessing areas of the game that are not intended for the public,” Bethesda said in their statement. “These areas are only accessible to PC players that are using 3rd party applications to get into these areas.
“In an effort to ensure the integrity of these characters and accounts, these accounts are being temporarily disabled pending further investigation. Players that have accessed these areas and have had their accounts impacted are encouraged to contact our support team.”
Meanwhile, Bethesda recently put up their weekly update on the Fallout website as well, where among the many things they talked about, they also discussed the issue of exploits and in-game cheats. “We want you to know that we take these exploits and those abusing them VERY seriously,” they wrote in their update. “Once identified, we work very closely with our Support team to remove problem players that are abusing these exploits – whether that’s the duping exploits or those using cheat apps or mods to access areas in-game that are otherwise inaccessible (and unintended) for players in the game world. As we continue to change the game, we fully expect to identify new issues, but we will continue [to] track and resolve exploits.”
