Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty spin-off put on hold

You’d think we would be talking about Modern Warfare 3, but then, you would be wrong. Before Sledgehammer got drafted to join Infinity Ward to work on MW3, the San Francisco-based studio was creating an action/adventure spin-off for the highly popular series. Regardless, word has it that the virtually oblivious title has actually not been forgotten.

“Right now Sledgehammer’s 100% focused on Modern Warfare 3,” said Activision Publishing head Eric Hirshberg. “We haven’t announced the future slate or future plans for the studio. They were originally working on an extension of the Call of Duty franchise into an action/adventure genre and that’s a game I still want to play.”

And just to make it crystal clear, ”all I can say is right now they’re 100% focused on Modern Warfare 3,” added Hirshberg.

If you "ignore" Battlefield,you are missing one of the best `game series of the recent times. BFBC2's online multiplayer is amazing and huge on scale,no Call of Duty can come near it's scale or realism.

Battlefield 3 will be better than Modern Warfare 3,visually,scale wise,realism wise,and in-general.

And hell,when you go into Battlefield matches,you don't get 9 year olds screaming down their mics on a game their too young to actually play.


It's a game, its not real and BFBC2 online is terrible, the only thing i liked about that game was the campaign and even that wasnt that great.

If Sledgehammer Games fulfills everything in a Call Of Duty game that I like,expect me to buy more of their games in the future.

BF3 Will be awesome still play BF2 a ton over any call of duty.
As the series gets popular soon 9 year olds will switch over to BF series tho :( hate to say it but as soon as it gets really popular all the lil kids will think its cool to play the game and then were gonna have to deal with them again lol

They would be stupid if they didnt spend all there time on CoD this game could make or break there company name. Im sure there side projects can wait.

That would be a Surprise

Being as Black Ops is 98% hack/mod free I'm sure MW3 will be similar.
