Apex Legends’ First Gameplay Footage Has Arrived
The rumors were true. Respawn Entertainment and EA have today launched Apex Legends, a new class-based battle royale game that takes place in the Titanfall universe. While the game is available for play right now and is free, Respawn has also released the first official gameplay for the title in a set of new videos.
In total, Respawn just released two new trailers for Apex Legends with each showing off a ton of gameplay. The first of these two videos, called the deep dive trailer, highlights all the various aspects that can be found within Apex Legends. Likely the most important aspect of this video is the many different characters that it shows off. As mentioned, Apex Legends is class-based with each different character in the game boasting a dramatically different playstyle. Some legends are more defensive-minded while others seem to possess a variety of different traversal abilities. Other details touched on in the video focus on weapons, cosmetics, and plans for additional content throughout the year.
The second trailer that Respawn released is much broader in scope and shows more of the combat and map seen within Apex Legends. If you want a brief look at the game rather than the thorough deep dive that the previous trailer offered, then this is for you. Both trailers in mention can be found at the bottom of the page.
I gotta be honest, I think everything shown of Apex Legends here looks really fun. Titanfall 2 is already one of the best shooters of this generation and what Respawn looks to have created here seems to have a lot to offer. And considering it’s free as well, there’s no reason not to give it a try and see if it’s your cup of tea. It’ll be interesting to see how this stacks up to other battle royale games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Black Ops 4’s Blackout in the long run.
Apex Legends is now available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Once we go hands-on with the game for ourselves, we’ll likely have some impressions up on the site so stay tuned.
