Through their latest financials earnings call which happened on February 14, Ubisoft talked about how multiple Triple-A games currently in development by the company’s studios should be released before the end of the fiscal year 2019, which is March 2020. Specifically, Ubisoft is planning to launch 3 of these games by then, and maybe 4 if things go well until then.
Ubisoft has multiple huge franchises which get a new AAA episode nearly every year, including Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, so it might be safe to assume two of these four games could be a new Assassin’s Creed, set in another antique setting, and yet another Far Cry. For the time being, the company is remastering Assassin’s Creed III on Switch.
Another possible contender would be Beyond Good & Evil 2, though I personally don’t think the game will release by March 2020. I obviously don’t mean to criticize the work of the people and studios developing the game, but Beyond Good & Evil 2 simply feels so massive I have a hard time believing we could actually play it in early 2020.
Some of Ubisoft’s older franchises like Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Rayman or Prince of Persia might be coming back, which is what I’m hoping for the most personally. Yet another possibility could be a new Watch Dogs, as Watch Dogs 2 has been out for a while now. Same with open-world car racing franchise The Crew whose next episode could be coming in 2020. There’s also Project Pioneer, a sci-fi game which was initially teased in Watch Dogs 2, whose development was recently rebooted and might be ready in time before March 2020.
