Modern Warfare 3 Fires Back at the Competition

As the release dates for both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare come closer, the mud-slinging is becoming dirtier with each passing day. This time it’s the co-developer of Modern Warfare 3 kicking wet dust DICE’s way, with the studio’s co-founder and general manager Glen Schofield saying, “I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.”
That’s what he said while speaking in a recent interview with AusGamers. When asked about Battlefield 3′s brand new Frostbite 2 engine he said, “You can go out and name your engine and call it whatever you want, right. You know, I’ve done that before, I’ve seen that trick and the bottom line is, this game will run at 60 frames a second. Not sure any of our competitors will.”
“Not sure I’ve seen any of our competitors on the console, especially running at 60 frames a second, and I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.
I think 60 is our competitive edge and you just don’t throw that away. You don’t ship an engine, you ship a game.”
Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8th worldwide for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Battlefield 3 will release on October 8th for the same platforms.

krwskater25 LOL frame rate..... That's what Modding Warfail is resorting to..... The game is going to be just like Modding Warfail 2. Who gives a **** about the frame rate. And also thank god for dedicated servers for battlefield, don't have to worry about F'n lag.


You obviously dont play very much PC games. 60 fps on a console would be absolutely amazing in the fact that the lower frames you have the more clunky the game is and affects the gameplay a lot. The higher the frames the better the game will be because the game will play smoother and feel better.

When I read 30 FPS a while ago I literally moaned UGHHH. Why? BFBC2 runs at 30 and I find it suuuuper clunky. The controls aren't as responsive on console either compared to CoD.

mw3 isnt much different i personally think bf3 will be wayyy better theres always somethin bf3 can do that mw3 cant and that is allowing you to blow up/ take down buildings. you can destroy almost anything in bf3 can you in mw3 didnt think so.

all in all i'll still buy both games though

Including that the Mw2 engine is getting updated (and face it Mw2 engine was pretty good) its a 60FPS game thats way better than 30FPS... yes they are bot gonna be good everyone knows that (willing to admit it or not) but Mw3 is more of a action packed game than BF3.. BF3 you are gonna spend more time getting around the map than anything else.. And Multiplayer is for ENTERTANINT, the realistic part of the game is the story and CoD has really good stories and they are pretty realistic (besides BO in some aspects) so quit saying BF3 is better or the other way around cause NO ONE HAS PLAYED THEM YET!

most people cant tell the difference of 30fps to 60 fps. battlefield campaign is realistic, your not running threw an exploding series of citys, finding the same 3 guns over and over. there arnt heavy perks in bf like in cod. dedicated servers prevent modding, or lag, host never migrated, and you dont have that one guy with host advantage. black ops was by far the worst call of duty so far, and they have been on a downward slope since cod 5. cod needs to step over and let a new title dominate

I'm still looking forward to Battlefield 3 lots more. Don't really want to get my hopes up for MW3 because the last few Cod's have been awful.

Being the top selling game means NOTHING. If you played BFBC2 you wouldn't notice the 30 fps. The engine is WAY more important than fps. The engine IS the game, and GOD Battlefield's is WAY better. Go look up some BFBC2 gameplay, that shows that 30 fps isn't bad at all. But you are too opinionated to notice and you will be responding in how I am SO wrong.

In your guys attempt to flame a fanboy your fanboying yourself you idiot. Stop being hippo-critical and calling names. This is not a fascist state where one rulers opinion is the opinion of the nation. And even still your not the leader anyways. So stfu. We have rights to believe what we think is best sure but its not fact. Both games will be amazing.
all people like to see is a good game so dout call them a fanboy and dout think you are not one too


call of duty has been the same thing for about 5 years. it hasnt changed at all. just new guns games and maps. the campaign is good, but the multiplayer is blah.
battlefield has much more to offer, it has the huge maps, the adjustable maps, and the way that you cant have unbalanced classes. it is a great game.
you cant notice the difference of 30 fps to 60 fps on a console.
the feel of bf to cod, it is way better, you get the realistic feeling, and it just looks so much better
