Modern Warfare 3 Fires Back at the Competition

As the release dates for both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare come closer, the mud-slinging is becoming dirtier with each passing day. This time it’s the co-developer of Modern Warfare 3 kicking wet dust DICE’s way, with the studio’s co-founder and general manager Glen Schofield saying, “I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.”
That’s what he said while speaking in a recent interview with AusGamers. When asked about Battlefield 3′s brand new Frostbite 2 engine he said, “You can go out and name your engine and call it whatever you want, right. You know, I’ve done that before, I’ve seen that trick and the bottom line is, this game will run at 60 frames a second. Not sure any of our competitors will.”
“Not sure I’ve seen any of our competitors on the console, especially running at 60 frames a second, and I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.
I think 60 is our competitive edge and you just don’t throw that away. You don’t ship an engine, you ship a game.”
Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8th worldwide for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Battlefield 3 will release on October 8th for the same platforms.

Every call of duty since CoD4 has used a upgraded version of the quake 3 engine. It looks ok but doesn't even compare to the frostbite/ frostbite 2 engine. You run like you would in real life btw, u probably wouldn't know this cuz u probably weigh around 200-300 pounds. and the guns actually have detail in battlefield. I like CoD and battlefield but overall, Battlefield is better IMO

They compare because these games are the main FPS's coming out this fall, so naturally they are the biggest competitors and want people to say nah BF is better then CoD.


Yea true point. Cod will be the more played game. Cod series always sell the best. Mw3 will top the sales of all cods,

The frame rate In MW3 Will be better but they both have things that the others don't that make those games the games that they are. And yes battlefield has there dedicated servers but COD has the option of local only now which prevents as much lag

But I will be getting both games as they both have parts that make them so good.


Well in Australia it help alot cause when me and my mates go
with local only we like never lag and you said your in the UK so I don't really no about over there but that's when they can't find anything locally

I don't know where you live, but "Local Only" makes absolutely no difference to me. I'm from the U.K. and maybe one out of every 10-20 games will be with other people from the U.K.
More often than not it'll still connect me to people from; Spain, Norway, France, Germany, Finland, and still people all the way over in Brazil and America.
The "Local Only" makes absolutely no difference to me, nor to any of my friends over here.
