Fallen Tree Games and Curve Digital have announced a new 3D top-down open-world single-player experience with American Fugitive.
This game takes place in Redrock County of the deep south, “a sleepy American town with a booming criminal underbelly.” Players control Will Riley, someone who is described as not an angel but also not a killer. Framed for the murder of his father, Riley sets out for vengeance. In the open world you will need to blend in with civilians and avoid police. All the action takes place during the 1980s, a fitting time period for a game set as, “a love-letter to the classic movies and games of old.”
Break out with #AmericanFugitive, the new action open-world sandbox game launching on #PC, #PlayStation4, #XboxOne, and #NintendoSwitch in 2019.

Much like the original Grand Theft Auto games, American Fugitive is an open world game set from a top-down perspective instead of the usual first- or third-person camera. It thankfully will not be an exact top-down angle like the original Grand Theft Auto games, which made it very difficult to spot what was coming in from just off-screen, and will be slightly angled. There will be “destructible environments, dynamic storytelling, and epic car-chase mayhem.” Players can rob houses, steal cars, and arm themselves to the teeth while unraveling the mystery of who really killed your father working with and against law-breakers and law-enforcers. Time trails and stunt jumps dot the world for those who want to challenge their driving abilities, with many vehicles to choose from.
No release date is given aside from the wide window of 2019. American Fugitive will be coming to PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can watch the announcement trailer below as well as peruse the image gallery for the game.
