Halo 4 To Return To Series’ Roots

Halo 4 is going to kick start a new trilogy, giving Halo fans the continuation of the beloved series. However, even though the series is moving forward, 343 Industries intends to take Halo 4 back to what made Halo such a success in the first place.

Microsoft UK’s Xbox & Entertainment director Stephen McGill stated in a recent interview, “One of the key things with Halo 4 is going back to what made it amazing for people playing the first Halo.”

“But the people who are 18 years old now were only eight when Halo appeared. They probably didn’t play it. That’s the opportunity the Anniversary pack and then Halo 4 have.”

So what do you make of this return to roots for the Halo series? Any theories?

Halo 4 currently has an unspecified 2012 release date, with Halo: CE Anniversary scheduled for release on November 15th, 2011.

Bring it back to its roots? Really? That's the same thing Bungie said they where doing with Halo: Reach.

EChondo I don't care about multiplayer, just keep the campaign as it always has been, interesting and a good plot.

i strongly agree with you my friend i havent played halo 1 yet but i played 2&3 and they were so good cant wait till the combat one comes out

starting playing when i was 5 :) PLayed everyone to the end. I love halo.

cronic74 I think 343 is smart enough to wipe out **** armor abilities. I loved the Halo series' multiplayer until Reach. Armor Lock must disappear if anything.

They better not **** up the story either, they better not try to make this like CoD campaigns and just go for cool over an interesting plot.


I actually thought the armor abilities were a nice touch. Each one has an advantage others dont, That bieng said some are a little overused but its a part of the game so we have no right to complain if we still play it.
