PlayStation 5 Controller and Dev Kit Reportedly Leaked

Most reports agree that the PlayStation 5 will ship sometime next year, likely in the fall. What's seemingly less obvious is when the PS5 will be revealed. Will Sony once again host its own special event to unveil the console early in 2020? Will it be revealed at E3 2020? Or could it possibly be revealed this year at PSX? At the moment, all we can unfortunately do is speculate. That said, our first look at the system's controller and developer kit may have just leaked. And if the leak is accurate, Sony Interactive Entertainment has more changes coming with the next generation than you may think.

For those that don't know: a developer kit is not representative of what a system will look like. For example, the big and beefy PlayStation 4 dev kit looked nothing like the consumer product. However, if the controller in question is legitimate, it's likely a prototype of sort, so while it may be closer to the final product, it could also be slightly different. As you can see, the allegedly new controller features a rounder look to it, though it still stays true to the DualShock design. In fact, it almost looks like a mix between a Sega Dreamcast controller and a PlayStation controller. Of course, the final product won't likely be that beefy. The early PlayStation 4 controller that leaked with dev kits was notably a lot slimmer in the final, consumer product. Meanwhile, the touchscreen lines-up with previous patent leaks that have suggested Sony was working on a controller with a touchscreen built into it.

Of course, this should all be taken with a grain of salt or two or three. In 2019, people are pretty good at creating fakes, which means every time a new hardware leak surfaces, people should remain skeptical.

Adam Don't understand why people are commenting about how it looks. It doesn't matter at the end of the day, it's how it feels in your hands. Take ergonomic mice for example, not good looking but so damn comfortable. Don't be so quick to judge even if this might be a fake or not.


I was thinking this, I don't find a lot of controllers or mouses appealing anyway, it's about how you play with them not how long you can stare at them hahahaha

Mario350 kinda looks like ps4 dev kit, but it also could be 3d printed without the shitty you can tell they did try 3d printed ie you can see the lines, if this is fake than it is a pretty damn good fake, i wont believe its real until we hear about devs getting them, but the rumored picture of stadia turned out to be true so who knows


devs get the systems 3 years before it goes public as 3 years to build games and test them on the systems and de bug plus they have to have them up and running to be able to get the finished product ironed out and have a games list line up for launch day.

people forget this when we get the system its already 3 year old in reality and they forget that it takes 3 years to make a game gta takes 6 years and look how long it taken them to do read dead redemption 2

go pick up a sega mega drive controller and see how it feels after having a ps controller or xbox controller for many years this ps5 dev controller looks more ergonomic than holding a mega drive controller cros duke controller cross ps2 controller

this is only a dev kit this will not be the retail shell or controller for sure all playstations have been really nice to look at so this is telling me this will not hit the shelfs and sony might be doing it this way to keep the final product a secret until unvailing time so the finished product aint leaked out before then

To be honest the way the system looks has nothing todo what so ever about how it runs , the specs on this system are probably amazing. Don't get me wrong the control and the overall design does look a bit chucky

Two_Faced I would believe it because the google controller looked this bad. Symmetrical sticks are gross as **** and play like dog shit


That's the one thing i can't stand about PS, never liked the controllers. I don't understand why they keep the same crap design
