Battlefield 3 Marketing Could Reach $50 Million

In April, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello said Battlefield 3 was designed to take Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 down, adding gamers could expect "a couple hundred million dollars" would be spent marketing the two competing titles. The lion's share of that money may be spent on behalf of Activision's blockbuster first-person shooter series, if a new investor note from Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter is accurate.


Expect a Battlefield 3 ad blitz closer to the game's launch.
In today's note, Pachter estimated that EA will spend between $45 million and $50 million to push Battlefield 3 this year. In addition to the marketing support, EA has the DICE-developed first-person shooter scheduled to get a head start on the competition, with an October 25 launch coming weeks before Modern Warfare 3's November 8 bow.

Pachter also weighed in on EA's Star Wars: The Old Republic massively multiplayer online game. The analyst expects it will sell 2 million copies at launch, with 1.5 million of purchasers sticking around beyond a free one-month trial period. Earlier this year, Riccitiello told investors that the game could be "substantially profitable" with just 500,000 subscribers, with anything above 1 million monthly users making the game "very profitable."

I'm not a CoD 'fanboy' or anything, it's just Battlefield is total crap. The way you run around is just retarded, it's like you're having a spasm. It's nowhere near as smooth as CoD. And the gun graphics are crap.

So yeah, CoD sh!ts on Battlefield :)

i had BFBC2 i put the sensativity on 10 and it still feels like your using sensativity 1 on Cod like wtf are you a robot BF sucks compared to COD
The thing is, only f*cking try hard snipers have their sensitivity on 10. You don't need that much sensitivity on Battlefield unless you want to be a moron and piss everyone off trying to get a "1337 t3mP4h 5h0+" and not playing strategically.

The the reason you just stated is why BF3 will be in Gameplay, and strategic a better game then Cod. The reason the sensitivities are so low in BF is because they are focusing more in gameplay, and the strategies gamers use. COD makes the sensitivity so high so you can trickshot, and make other players laugh at you. There really is no comparison in my opinion. Cod, is yes, very addictive and fun to play. But BF has better gameplay, graphics, movements, and so on. Ruling THAT to be the better game.


Are you Blind BFBC2 did not have better graphics then Mw2 or Black ops So how can u say it has better graphics ? we will see what game looks better when BF3 and Mw3 Come out


I'm not talking about BFBC2. I'm talking about BF3. From the gameplay so far, it is crushing MW3 in Gameplay, graphics, mecahnism, and engine. BF2 had amazing graphics, and was one of the best games of that time. I was completely dissapointed with the MW3 gameplay. It looked like MW2: 2. Cod is fun. And I bet the new one will be very fun, and addicting, but overall it is not coming to close to beating BF3. The multiplayer is yet to be revealed, but from the looks of 'Survival' I didn't see anything special. Cod 4, WAW, and MW2 were very successful games, and got tons of people hooked with the COD franchise. But every since, a new COD title is released and everyone goes crazy GUARANTEEING that it will be the best game of the year. Black Ops' graphics were very bad and sloppy, and the unfairness between PS3 versions and Xbox versions were dissapointing. But still, everyone was so hooked with MW2 that they assumed Black Ops was the best game of the year. Without Zombies Black ops would just be another game laying under everyone's bed waiting to be replayed until the NEXT cod is a dissapointment.

Battlefield is realistic, CoD is not. Battlefield is older than CoD, therefore CoD is a remake of Battlefield. #Winning
