"GTA inspired London riots", paper claims
And while Codemasters’ F1 series hasn’t been credited for the success of Sebastian Vettel and I’ve not yet read any stories thanking Populous for inspiring God himself, some people have seemingly linked Rockstar’s title to the tragic events.
Tonight’s copy of the London Evening Standard could claim that the London riots seen in the past 48 hours were “inspired” by famous games series Grand Theft Auto, MCV can reveal.
Two people – one a police officer in Tottenham and the other an Enfield resident – told reporters that they believed the popular game series was the catalyst behind the breakdown of law and order.
A member of the Evening Standard news team confirmed that at the time of speaking, the GTA quotes were to be included in the article. However, the source would not rule out the possibility of alternations being made before the paper hits presses.

but there is no chopper shooting automatic rockets.
How could that be anywhere close to what the game is like! neither did i see a flying car kill anyone.
Maybe bill gates covered it up and that paper was the only information leak. I could be on to something here

i love how that when ever something goes wrong a game is blamed. next someones gonna drive like a nutter down the motorway or some street on the oncoming lane and crash a load of cars into each other and gonna blame it on the burnout series :/

GTA has nothing to do with this sh*t. why is all news has to be related to video games?
its just that this f*cks over there in London are uncivilized.
UK has the most stubborn teenagers around.
just watch all those reality TVs about it...
I agree that games get blamed for everything it's ridiculous but that's quite a bad stereotype, I'm a teenager in the UK and i don't break the law and cause riots. But i most agree to an extent the teenagers here are stubborn but to be honest I think it's only cause they aren't raised up in the complete environment i know a few people who were raised in "rough" places and so aren't exactly the "model Citizen" It's not just the UK it's just the place they are raised.
coming from a country where you can carry a gun 'legally' with a licence as a civilian
