Of all the new announcements that Ubisoft made at E3 2019 this past year, the reveal of Rainbow Six Quarantine was one of the more exciting talking points. Unlike its counterpart in Siege, Quarantine is a PvE co-op experience that is based on the Outbreak game mode that arrived in Siege in the past. While a release date other than “2020” wasn’t given at the time of Quarantine’s announcement, today, a more specific window was divulged.
During Ubisoft’s financial call going over the publisher’s performance from the first quarter of its current fiscal year, CEO Yves Guillemot talked about Rainbow Six Quarantine and its showing at E3. In the process, Guillemot also divulged that the game is set to launch in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year. This means that it will drop at some point between the start of January and the end of March 2020.
Considering Ubisoft had previously tipped its hand to the fact that it had three unannounced AAA games set to arrive before the end of this fiscal year, this isn’t all that surprising. One of those games turned out to be Watch Dogs Legion and the other was that of Gods & Monsters. By pure process of elimination, this meant that Rainbow Six Quarantine had to be the other game in mention.
Still, it’s good to hear Ubisoft officially confirm this assumed release window for themselves. If you’d like to get in on the action of Rainbow Six Quarantine ahead of launch next year, you can currently sign-up for the game’s beta over on the official website.
Rainbow Six Quarantine is set to arrive next year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
