Gears 5 Story Trailer Has Finally Arrived

After a long wait, The Coalition has finally shown off more of the story of Gears 5.

To kick off Geoff Keighley’s Gamescom Opening Night Live stream today, The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson took to the stage and revealed a new trailer for Gears 5.

As was promised, this campaign trailer focused entirely on the narrative that Gears 5 will tell. Up until this point, we haven’t seen a whole lot of the game’s story, but this trailer finally starts to show off some of the more marquee moments that it will seemingly offer. The trailer also largely focuses on the character Kait and her difficulty with combatting her heritage. The trailer is also backed by Nine Inch Nails’ classic banger Head Like A Hole.

Even though we still haven’t seen a whole lot of the campaign, what has been revealed seems pretty promising. While Gears of War 4‘s campaign left a bit of something to be desired, I’m hoping Gears 5 can return to form just a bit and deliver another classic shooter story.

You can check out the new trailer down below. Gears 5 is due out worldwide on PC and Xbox One next month on September 10. For more on the game, you can also check out the Horde mode gameplay footage that was released earlier today, too.
