The extraordinarily popular streamer Tyler Blevins, better known as Ninja, has signed yet another exclusive deal. Today, he announced his new partnership with Adidas. The sportswear giant is instantly recognizable in all corners of the globe, and while the brand already sponsors esports teams, Ninja is the first individual gamer/streamer to be associated with the brand.
No shortcuts. Only long days. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t catch your dreams.

I’m humbled, and excited, to officially announce my partnership with @adidasoriginals

This deal speaks not only to Ninja’s bright future, but to the bright future of streaming and esports more generally. After all, the fact that a company like Adidas–massive, but not traditionally associated with gaming–wants to establish a closer relationship with a streamer shows that there’s a lot of value there. If streaming and esports continue to grow, I’m sure we will see more partnerships like this in the future.
However, while Adidas’s involvement in the gaming world is cool, Ninja isn’t exactly your average gamer. His recent move from Twitch to Mixer was huge news (and ruffled more than a few feathers), and he is such a big fixture on streaming platforms that he was paid $1 million to promote Apex Legends. The founder of Wicked Cool Toys, a company that distributed a Ninja-themed toy line, called him “the Michael Jordan, Lebron James and Tiger Woods of the gaming world.” If you aren’t familiar with sports, let’s just say that this is high praise indeed. Unfortunately, the rest of us might have to achieve more notoriety before Adidas comes knocking on our doors.
