Microsoft still 'confident' Xbox can be No.1 worldwide

Microsoft says its ambition is to transform Xbox 360 into the number one home console not just in Europe, but worldwide. Speaking ahead of its GamesCom press event this afternoon, Microsoft Europe's interactive entertainment business VP, Chris Lewis, said the titles it has on show in Germany have made him confident the platform holder can achieve its goal."We've been very clear that our ambition is to be the number one console not only in Europe but worldwide, and looking at our line-up at GamesCom while knowing what's still in the pipeline, I'm confident we have the games and experiences to drive us toward that goal."
He added: "Consumers of all ages continue to be captivated and entertained by everything Xbox 360 and Kinect have to offer and our commitment to the core remains undeniable."
Microsoft's line-up in Cologne includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Gears of War 3, Forza Motorsport 4, Kinect Star Wars and Steel Battalion, among others.
The platform holder also confirmed that Double Fine's Trenched will finally be released in Europe under the name Iron Brigade.

exactly the only reason xbox has more players was because, when the ps3 was released it was $500+ dollars and the xbox was 300+. ps3 is eventully going to get bigger.
You pay for Live because it is a service with great reliably,it has exclusive DLC (e.g. CoD for what it's worth a month in advance) it's always getting new features,on top of the many more features it has compared to PSN.
No one "makes" you buy add-ons or games,they are there if you want them..it's like complaining there are restaurants that charge if you eat there,but don't force you to...
They ban you from breaking the Terms and conditions,which you SIGNED UP TO. Don't mod and you won't get banned.
PS3 will never be bigger than the Xbox 360,anyone with common sense can see that 8)

Z_RO--- 360 COULD be amazing still, if they had free live, GOD, and MSp was given monthly, but they are not able to do that, and if they keep consoles from getting rrod...
Paying for live makes it more stable and reliable... If you want free, go to PSN where anyone smart enough can hack into it and take your info.
They will never give mspoints for free monthly. Thats another huge part of the money making process.
And seriously you're still hooked onto the RRoD shiz? That was 5+ years ago! The elite and slim don't get RRoD's (if elite does, it's just as rare as the PS3's YLOD). They had a flaw in their OLD consoles. They have no control over the idiots that keep paying $100+ to keep fixing their OLD consoles. Quit crying about this, it's really annoying.

well my xboxes have never had rrod and if msp were free every month xbox live would get worse because they will be loosing money and the people who make the content at the marketplace will also make no money and free god is not up to microsoft its up to the game developers and then again developers will loose thousands of money
