Modern Warfare on PC Requires You to Have 175 GB of Free Space

Time to clean up your hard drive before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare drops in a few weeks.

Prior to its launch at the end of this month, the PC specs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have now been listed on Battle.net letting players know just what they’ll need to play the game.

The minimum and recommended specifications for the game have been listed, as usual, and they don’t seem to be asking for a lot at a minimum. The only staggering ask is that you’ll need at least 175 GB of hard drive to download the game, which is crazy. I can’t remember another game in recent memory asking you to free up more space on your computer in order to play. Not to mention, what in Modern Warfare is so massive that it would take up this much space? Clearly that new engine the game is running is gaudy.

In other PC news, Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC specs were revealed today as well and that game is asking you to have 150 GB of free space. It seems like PC games are only getting more and more massive as time goes on, so maybe it might be time to re-invest in a new hard drive if yours is getting tight.
