EA’s Ben Walke recently revealed on Twitter that Need for Speed Heat has gone gold. That means principal development on the open world racer is complete and its master code has been sent out to be pressed on discs. Developers Ghost Games will, of course, still be working on the game to iron out any kinks and bugs, but that stuff will come in the form of updates and patches on the day of launch and beyond.
Those who were burned by Need for Speed Payback’s aggressive monetization have cause for optimism this time around, with EA having confirmed that Heat won’t have any lootboxes. Meanwhile, we can also expect improved cop chases and a greater focus on customization. The game won’t require a persistent internet connection either.
Need for Speed Heat launches for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 8.
The game has gone gold, and has been sent to be made into discs.
