Watch Dogs Legion Development Teams Respond to the Game’s Delay

3.7
The developers behind Watch Dogs Legion have expressed optimism in bettering the final game after the recent delay was announced.

Recently, during its quarterly financial call, Ubisoft confirmed that it would be delaying Watch Dogs Legion from its planned launch date in March 2020 to a currently unscheduled date in the second half of next year. Now, following this news, the development teams behind the third installment in the open world franchise have responded.

Over on the official Watch Dogs Twitter account, the developers behind Legion released a statement that touched on the delay. The statement was largely one of confidence, saying that the added development time on the project will allow the final experience to be all the better. “We are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to deliver this ambitious vision at the best possible level of quality and bring our near-future London to life in the way it deserves,” said the message. “We look forward to sharing more with you very soon!”

This additional time will also surely help Ubisoft improve Watch Dogs Legion for next-gen consoles, which it has now been confirmed for as well. While details on these likely PS5 and Xbox Scarlett iterations of the game haven’t been touched on much at this point, Ubisoft did confirm that Legion is planned for the upcoming platforms yesterday alongside the delay announcement.

With the first half of 2020 already filled to the brim with game releases, Watch Dogs Legion getting pushed back a bit shouldn’t be too worrisome to many. Even if you were looking forward to playing it sooner rather than later, the finished game will surely be much better now because of the extra time.

Watch Dogs Legion has currently only been confirmed for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
