The Xbox Series X Appears To Be An Absolute Unit

The photo above comes from Destin Legarie, who is showing off what IGN has made after the reveal of the Xbox Series X at The Game Awards. It’s a mock-up of the physical console that they assembled after seeing the reveal, and trying to use standard things like the size of the disk drive and controller to measure out how big a real Xbox Series X is going to be.

And it’s really, really damn big.

This mock-up (as shown off in the video below) is making me wondering if this thing is even going to fit in my TV stand. And if so, if it will be so crammed in there that ventilation could end up being something of a problem.

Microsoft is showing off the tower as just that, a tower, but quickly said that yes, you can turn it on its side just like you can with most video game consoles that are showed off vertically like the PS2 and Xbox 360 before it.

It also reinforces the fact that this thing is essentially just a mini-gaming PC, as obviously my computer tower (and most computer towers) are bigger than this thing, but with less power (at least in my case). So really, for the power, Microsoft is delivering something smaller than it could be. And yet clearly quite a change from the existing Xbox One X.

ttghanman I don't mind the console, i like the design size will fit well where il put it but.. im not a fan of them making controllers even smaller i felt like xbox 360 had the best just felt comfy, then with the xbox one controller it felt like it was for 9 year olds the joysticks were tiny the controller was that small it would cramp up my hands after a while idk if my hands are big or if they just design controllers for the younger generation, imo they should release a +size controller for adults xD


Try looking up the xbox one duke controller it's made for huge hands

Why is their elite controller is shaped like an xbox controller then?

I have both and a pc so im not bothered myself i prefer pc tbh

Mario350 i dont mind the console itself, i dont like the design as it doesnt fit in the living room or under any tv stand if you already have a pc under your tv/computer stand.
i just honestly hate the xbox one controller, they should go back to using the xbox one controller the xbox one from 2001 and i mean the slim version, or the 360 console these are the best controllers for the console, but yeah i have the same exact case as the xbox series x because its a corsair case and they look like that depending on the one im referring to.

but yeah they need to redesign the console to make it a console not a pc looks is what most people go for in a console reason why i went ps4 year one and xbox one(2013) year 8 or year 7 unless youre a console collector like me, but imo its a bad design and the controller is also trash

Agreed, I even feel the Elite Series 2 is awesome in comparison. The OG Xbox Controller is really similar to latest...
