Apple's various iOS products could have yet another major retailer selling them in their brick and mortar stores. The video and PC game retailer GameStop has posted up word on its web site that it has started accepting old iPhones, iPads and iPods as trade ins along with its used games, consoles and accessories. As with its used game products, people who bring in their old iOS devices will receive credit towards future purchases from GameStop.

In addition to the used products, there are rumors that GameStop could start selling new iOS devices from Apple in the near future. 9to5Mac reports via several unnamed sources that GameStop announced at its annual trade show in Las Vegas this past week it would start selling new iPhones, iPads and iPods in its stores. There's no word on when this might happen although the upcoming launch of the iPhone 5 and the new versions of Apple's iPods would be a good time to start, just before the holiday shopping season really begins. GameStop has offered up more products for sale than just games and game-based hardware in the past. Several years ago it started selling Microsoft's Zune media players. However due to poor sales the retailer stopped selling Zune products in 2008.

GameStop has been busy expanding its business into other areas. Earlier this year it purchased the Impulse PC game download service from Stardock and is even accepting pre-orders in its stores for downloadable games. It also acquired Spawn Labs at the same time and is now testing its streaming technology. It plans to offer up its own cloud-based streaming game service to its customers sometime in mid-2012.
