Creative Director Leaves Halo 4

Ryan Payton was the Creative Director for Halo 4, but recently quit the project and 343, detailing the game as a "crazy endeavour". Payton has been tasked with heading up the creative team at 343 Industries and creating the new fiction for the highly anticipated sequel to the popular Halo franchise.

In a recent interview, Payton spoke on several reasons why he 343 which ranged from "being drained" to having "severe depression".

"I never thought I'd get to the point where I was so drained," Payton said. "I think time is the most valuable thing we have and I've decided that I'm not going to waste one more day working on something that doesn't speak to my values."

Halo 4 was revealed earlier this year at E3 2011 and is scheduled for a 2012 launch.

XxTTGxBattlefieldxX Ok Bungie was a fantastic halo producer company thay came out with Halo 3, I consider the best, Halo Reach and ODST plus so much more. So let's notnget down on Bungie for leaving halo. Let's celebrate the great things that they've made and be happy for them. On the other hand things will be different in Halo 4 the story line might be a little off. The new creator hopefully will make us and bungie proud by putting there new creative spin on Halo. Therefore thank you Bungie for this wonderful series. And I can't wait to see what's next.


Its not so much a "New" creator because 343 is as experienced with halo as Bungie and 343 is pretty much bungie. 343 knows what their doing when it comes to this project and hopefully they can stick to their roots to make Halo 4 as good as Halo 2.

Well that is depressing knowing that a game could possibly be a dive and not reach the potential it should because the Creative Director left.

I love how the kids claiming their fans of Halo all the way... but they act is if 343 hasn't made a Halo game... But yet Bungie and 343 have been co-working since Halo Combat Evolved. Bungie left the team for Halo 4 after Reach.
343 has been working on Halo 4 secretly for years, while Bungie kept fans into the series with ODST and Reach.

wow bunch of Halo "Fans" don't know who this guy is heh bunch of lost "fans" in my opinion. and to be honest it will be hard to try and make a sequel to this amazing franchise (should end at 4 Halo will fail if it goes past 4) people want it to end good not fail so rather let this stress man leave and pick up his brain and find a new guy who can ACTUALLY make a story. Plus i think every company should get together and make a huge "What If" game. like Halo Meets Mass Effect or CoD meets Gears of War. i think gaming industry would get sooo much bucks doing this.
