After arriving last year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the Nintendo Switch iteration of Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds now has a release date and it’s coming sooner than you may think.
Announced by publisher Private Division today, The Outer Worlds will finally be coming to Switch in just about a month on March 6, 2020. It was previously announced last summer that The Outer Worlds would be arriving on Switch, but we knew that this version of the game would be arriving after its release on other platforms. For Switch owners to only have to wait an additional five months or so to finally get the game isn’t too shabby.
Citizens of Halcyon! We are proud to announce that we're extending the universe of #TheOuterWorlds to Nintendo Switch on March 6th.

Likely the biggest downside of the Switch release of The Outer Worlds, especially for those who like to have physical games, is that there will be no physical cartridge of the title available. While a physical version of The Outer Worlds will be hitting store shelves, the only thing you’ll find inside the case upon opening it is a download code for the game. Other Switch titles have done this in the past as well, so it isn’t anything new or bewildering to see, necessarily. Still, for some, I’m sure this news will be somewhat of a disappointment.
