Cyberpunk 2077 Coming To GeForce Now On Day One

3.8
One of the most anticipated titles of 2020, Cyberpunk 2077, is coming to Nvidia’s cloud gaming service this year.

GeForce Now members who purchase CD Projekt Red’s upcoming title through Steam will be able to stream the game to Windows or Mac computers, Android devices, or Nvidia’s Shield TV streaming players starting September 17th, the same day it officially launches on console and PC, Nvidia confirms in a recent blog post. Nvidia further notes that GeForce Now members can potentially get better graphics when they play Cyperpunk 2077 through the service by providing members with access to its ray-tracing technology, RTX On, which optimizes games to render realistic lighting effects.

This is a huge win for Nvidia following a “misunderstanding” that forced the company to remove titles published by Activision Blizzard from its service, resulting in its members being unable to play popular games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft on GeForce Now.

GeForce Now officially launched earlier this month, offering a free tier as well as a premium membership option for $5 a month. Unlike its competition, Google Stadia, which has yet to reveal when Cyberpunk is coming to the service, GeForce provides a “bring your own”-style approach to cloud gaming — allowing members to play their purchased games anywhere they want, even if they were bought on other platforms such as Steam.
